The poppy seed cake from Landtmann's fine patisserie is lactose- and alcohol-free. The shortcrust pastry base is covered with a moist blend of Waldviertel gray poppy seeds and roasted, ground hazelnuts. Before the second poppy seed and nut layer, homemade cranberry compote with whole pieces is added for a sweet and sour contrast. The final touch is apricot jam made from Wachau apricots, for which we use only the sunny sides of the apricots, and a fresh sugar glaze. Fruity & tempting.
Tip: heat briefly and serve with whipped cream
